What Is Evolution Through Movement?
Evolution Through Movement teaches individuals, especially children with special needs, to create higher levels of function through facilitating the brain’s ability to develop new neurological pathways.
Based on the work of Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais and his student, Anat Baniel, this method of facilitating development and function has been recognized by medical doctors and specialists as being scientifically based and beneficial at any age.
Sessions are one-on-one and normally take place in clusters of 5-10 'lessons' over a period of a week. The work is very gentle, non-invasive and easily tolerated by even the most physically challenged child.
Chad Estes ABM, GCFP, the founder of ETM, brings a culmination of 18 years of study and practical application in the fields of education, biology, physiology, kinesiology, movement science, and neurophysiology to this practice. Chad apprenticed for four years under Feldenkrais practitioner and ABM developer Anat Baniel. He is a certified Feldenkrais practitioner as well as being a certified practitioner of the Anat Baniel Method for children.
The Anat Baniel Method for children facilitates the child's ability to develop to a much greater extent than previously thought possible. It is effective at any age, but results are more dramatic and easily achieved if the child begins on this method during the early years when the neurological pathways are still developing.
